January 5, 2008 Effects of Election

Things here are not so good since Kibaki was declared the winner of the presidential race and especially they way he was sworn in with few people attending the swearing in ceremony at state house.

Today, the ODM team is matching to Uhuru park for what they call peaceful demonstration against the alleged rigging of the presidential votes. There is allot of Tension in Kenya for even there is no matatus neither buses operating. Many people have died and many vehicles burned. Even the government extended the opening of schools from 7th or 8th to 13th and 14th respectively hoping that by then, peace will have been restored to the country.

Several places have been affected, e.g Mathare slums, Huruma,Dandora, Kibera Eldoret Mombasa and parts of Kayole. Several properties have been destroyed, Houses burned and many people have been killed innocently. So right now there is a lot of insecurity in some parts of the country and in Limuru ,Kiambu and generally Kikuyu parts, there is no problem.

But keep on praying for Kenya. Raila Odinga wants Kibaki to step down from being the president as the first condition if they are going to talk towards reconciliation.

We are not quite safe since Kayole and Komarock are neighbors and they have also vandalized things and killed people in Kayole and now they are targeting Komarock. Around where I have put the church, it is a chaos al around.

I believe God is doing a work that we may not be seeing and it will be geared toward peace.
